Socks with a conscience

When we set up Stratis, we had two goals. The first was to make the most comfortable socks ever using yak wool. The second was to try to do build a company that could do some good. We knew we wanted to make socks responsibly and ethically. We wanted to make clothes with a conscience. We’re not the first company to make this claim and we won’t be the last. We’re going to be the first to say it, we can do a better job and will never stop looking for ways to build a more responsible, ethical and meaningful contributor to the world around us.

We’re saying “No” to fast-fashion.

Every time you make a purchase from us, it matters. There’s so much more that goes in behind the scenes than just manufacturing and shipping. When you buy your socks from us, you aren’t buying stuff from a bunch of people that care more about profits than everything else. Rather, you are proving that you expect more from the companies you do business with. You don’t just expect quality in the product, you expect quality in how we operate. That’s our promise to you each and every time you buy.

The Stratis company values were formed specifically to foster a culture of caring beyond making sales to customers. We believe in fair trade and the betterment of our herder families. We’re continuing to grow and nurture our relationships with them to ensure that our success is their success. This means more than just money. It’s long-term growth in education, animal welfare, and environmental protection. Reuters wrote a pretty fantastic article about the importance of yaks in Mongolia that we think speaks volumes. With the ever-growing threat of climate change and economic pressures, it’s more important than ever to encourage positive change.

As we continue to grow, we’ll continue working with local families and collectives that are committed to fair trade, proper land management, responsible herd management and decreasing carbon footprints.
